Best In The Desert Parker 425 rain or shine, still go racing

The Parker 425 marks the start of the BITD offroad racing season, and it proves to be one of the biggest races of the BITD series.

This year the race was held on 7th of February with tech and contingency on the 6th. Contingency is the day before the race where all the race vehicles go through a tech inspection; Which is open to the public where, drivers and fans alike can interact, and see new and exciting products from the offroad industry. The race is annually held the first weekend in February in a small town called Parker, Arizona. Here are some shots from contingency.

Below a Dog rides through tech in style on the hood of a race car.

Now onto the race, The race itself starts early in the morning even before the sun comes up. I first started off shea road, a good spectating spot I might add.. Couple shot before the sun came up, the stock nikon flash did fair..

Then the sun came up and it became a little easier to shoot, I shot all the race vehicles on the first lap from here... Here are some more shots from the first lap.

Jergensen flys by on the outside lane.

A class one buggy gets some air off the roller..

Another class one buggy bottomed out after hitting the roller.

The sun was coming up right behind me you can see perfectly inside the cab, I wonder how the drivers visibility was.

A trophy truck hits the rear end hard.

A class 10 buggy leaps off the roller, only 418 miles to go.

The 7200 truck of Trail Ready Motorsports get squirly off the roller after hitting a rut created by the unlimited race vehicles.

A buggy bucks the rear end after hitting a whoop.

A stock class slams on the brakes to avoid hitting the whoops to fast, would of been a great photo opportunity though.

A JeepSpeed leaps off a whoop and gets some nice air.

Pack of race cars cruises through the race course.

After all the race vehicles on the lead lap passed, I hiked up the race course to a wide sweeping turn near by which made for some excellent shots. I stayed here for about an hour, or an hour and a half.. Bellow Letner's Class one car powers through the sandy turn.

The LVDC Class One Buggy roars through the turn.

A Class One buggy shoots a sand roost through the turn.
