Young guns and suprise guests turn Firebird Raceway into an action packed racing holiday weekend.

October 31st marks Halloween and The 2nd annual Whiplash Firebird Halloween Race. However, this year would be just as exciting as last year, with many new faces from the young guns to the surprise guests the racing would prove to be anyone's ballgame.

First up on the racing schedule would be the UTV practice where many drivers would be getting used to the track and how it changed through the race.

Next up to practice would be the Buggy class, it proved to be an exciting practice session.

After the action of the Buggies, next came the trucks. Some took it slow and other just went for it.

In Mark Porter's Pro2 was his step son Mitch Porter his is 16 years old, and doesn't have a drivers license yet. This would be his third time driving the truck. He powers through a corner in this shot.


Next up was the makeup trophy kart racing seeing at Snowflake the trophy karts got rained out. These kids would prove to be very competitive and push their karts to the edge to get the checker flag.

Then Saturday afternoon came along and it was the UTV main here is a shot from before the race in staging.

Then I made my way to the backstretch where it goes up into an off camber jump/hill climb here are some shots.

That would conclude Saturday. Sunday was the Race main events for the Trophy Karts, Trucks, and Buggies.

Then it would be the Buggy and Truck mains which were combined.

After the dust settled Mitch Porter would take the checkered flag for the truck class and third overall, He also had the fastest lap

Lonnie Hart in his class 10 Car would go on to win the event and take the overall.
