Whiplash Season opener well atleast for trucks and buggies that is.. Speedworld Round 1

On Saturday February 13th 2010 Whiplash had their first race of the season for trucks, buggies, and UTV‘s; However this year would be different from all the prior years. Whiplash is running a shot course and a desert series, with the short course race on Saturday and desert series race on Sunday. With the Parker 425 the week before and Battle at Primm the week after attendance was low, but that wouldn’t stop the exciting action of offroad racing.


Action Started on Friday as practice, not offically sanctioned by Whiplash, but many of the Whiplash racers came out to get a few test laps in before the race tomorrow.

That would conclude the friday practice. Next would be the short course race day. The short course series race consited of the one mile lucas oil race track. Here are some shots from saturday.

That would conclude the day of short course racing. Sunday would be the desert racing day wherethe lucas oil track was extended an extra mile to mile and a half for the trucks and an extra 5-7 miles for the UTVs. Not to mention it was a landrush start...

Next would start the UTV race on the bigger desert loop, so I hike out to the desert and went to a whoop section I scouted out on friday...

As I was walking back in the UTVs were on their last laps, and I found a cool turn to shoot from so I stopped there until the race was over...

That would end a great weekend of racing next race will be in Holbrook, Prescott Valley Fair Grounds, Az a race in the high country of northern Arizona.
